The Vision of Robi

To stop our hopes from fading away and to make us believe in our dreams once again, Robi Axiata Ltd broke every boundary to go above and beyond to unite the citizens of Bangladesh. On December 16th, 2013, the world's largest human flag was formed in Bangladesh on the National Parade Ground hosted by the Robi family. They gathered 27,117 people who came together to hold a piece of our flag to mark our countries name on the Guinness World Record. Thousands of soldiers, students of all ages, and many patriotic supporters with their families were present standing together side by side to take part in the making of history. The air was filled with pride and the love for our country was seen on every face who were present. But to create that achievement there were great minds who played a vital role. It was because of the months of hard work and sleepless nights of the creative team of Robi that made the event so successful. There were many obstacles they faced and many yes’s quickly had to turn into no’s due to many political unrest and security reasons. However, just like the famous quote says “If you really want something you will make it happen.” Robi had a vision and they didn’t give up on their dream. Through social media and a highly skilled team they managed to gather over 27,117 people to participate in the event and also countless supporters gathered around the field to be a part of the history. Regardless of every obstacle that came on their way, Robi found ways to hurdle over them. To inspire the citizens, Robi came up with the idea of a Music anthem called “Ak potaka tolo” composed by Habib Wahid and sung by Sabina Yasmin, Fahmida Nabi, Ayub Bachchu, Bappa Majumdar, Fuad, Kona, Elita, Shuvo, Nirjhor, Lincoln, Johad & Emil. It was a historical moment for our country and Bengali’s living around the world also supported by tuning into the radio, t.v or constantly checking facebook updates of the people who were present at the location so they can stay updated. It was also a worldwide celebration of our country and it made us proud as a nation to see media coverage of this milestone achievement on every major news channels and newspapers around the world. Robi’s vision not only wrote our name on the Guinness world record but inspired our country to feel a similar pride we once felt back in 1971 when our nation received an identity.  The six minutes and sixteen seconds while every hand on that parade ground were held high shaped the most beautiful scenery of our flag and at the same time united the hearts of our entire nation.
